Education as a Factor of Geopolitics

The article examines some aspects related to the changes in the international educational space taking place during the period of deglobalization, plurality and sovereignization. The main dispositional characteristics that influence the development of modern educational systems and define it as a real geopolitical factor are postulated. Special attention is paid to the formation of the Russian education system as a sovereign one. Its current state and the status of ongoing reforms are conceptualized as Russia's third attempt to take its rightful place within the framework of the geopolitical educational space. In conclusion, it is concluded that, firstly, deglobalization, regionalization and sovereignization determine the increasing dependence of education on the economy. And secondly, education is no longer an autonomous sector and is becoming a crucial condition for synchronizing technological progress and human capital.
