There is some consensus in the scholarly community regarding the interpretation of the term “republic”. Generally, a republic exists in a tight dichotomy with a monarchy, but this was not always the case. The changing understanding of the republic in modern times has enabled the construction of a modern society through a greater formalization of the concept of a republic. We hypothesize that a return to the ancient interpretation of the concept of “republic” and the ancient view of the implementation of its fundamental principles will enable us to recognize the possibilities for improving the quality of social relations and finding a genuine alternative to effective approaches to social organization.
