The Reliability of Historical Knowledge in the Concept of Cognitive History by O. M. Medushevskaya

The aim of the article is to explicate the philosophical foundations of O. M. Medushevskaya's concept of cognitive history. Authors of the article consider the problem posed by Medushevskaya regarding the justification of history as an exact humanitarian science to be extremely important. So for authors set out to critically examine the proposed concept for its resolution. For this aim, to be analyzed the fundamental concepts of cognitive history: intellectual product, information resource, and information magnetism, and compare mediated and direct information exchange. As a result, problematic areas of the cognitive history concept are identified, including the unfounded nature of the term “information magnetism” and the complexity of defining direct information exchange. The authors propose ideas on how to further develop Medushevskaya's approach in light of new scientific data and concepts that have emerged in recent decades.
