Supernational Infrastructure Integration: Objectives and Conditions

Abstract

The possibilities and effectiveness of cross-border and supranational partnerships are determined both by the current situation and by the history of geopolitical, trade, economic, and other ties. Geographically, culturally, and politically, Russia is part of both Europe and Asia. In a historical sense, Europe is not at all a foreign world and space to us. The East Asian pivot is largely a forced measure – a consequence of the radically changed opportunities for partnership in the Western world. One of the strategic objectives of cooperation is for states to maintain their influence and control over territories and resources. The indisputable priority of differentiated cooperation in the East Asian region, both for our country and for other participants, is their own national interests.
