Abstract

This article is based on the results of the author's ethnosociological research conducted from 1985 to 2025 in various regions of Siberia. It provides information on the preservation of knowledge about the Great Patriotic War, its main events, and its heroes. The study sample includes various gender, age, and socio-cultural groups of the Siberian population. The results showed that the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the older generation's knowledge about the main events and heroes of the war significantly exceed those of the younger generation. The ethnocultural preferences of different population groups share common features. In conclusion, the author concludes that it is necessary to intensify the promotion of the value of preserving and popularizing knowledge about the Great Patriotic War, as this is significant for the formation of historical, cultural, and national identity, and for fostering patriotism among new generations of Russians. It is also important to continue research in this area using an interdisciplinary approach.
