Abstract

In some recent papers, I. V. Berestov presented an original theory of motion that he considers an alternative to the standard theory. In his view, the advantage of his theory is its ability to solve a Zeno-like paradox that cannot be solved by the standard theory. A specific feature of Berestov’s theory is the view that moving objects are, paradoxically, out of time and space at some stages of moving. The paper has a critical aim: I show that both Berestov’s criticism on the standard theory and his own theory are not sufficiently grounded. Besides, I demonstrate that the constructed by him Zeno-like paradox and some analogous paradoxes have a unified solution within the standard theory
